Bills place Demetrius Bell on IR

  • Posted on December 11, 2009 at 3:37 pm

Just a week before the start of the 2009 NFL season, Demetrius Bell was handed the starting left tackle job after then-head coach Dick Jauron cut incumbent tackle Langston Walker.   The hope was that Bell would mesh in well with a young but heavily invested offensive line that would form cohesiveness and chemistry.

We’ll have to wait until next year to see what Bell has, because he’s just been placed on the season ending injured reserve list with an ailing knee.

Bell, who also missed a large portion of training camp was only able to play in eight games this season. He was charged with allowing five sacks and committed eight accepted penalties.

Sabres vs Hawks.. To Boo Or Not To Boo?

  • Posted on December 11, 2009 at 7:59 am

If there was one game that Sabres fans must of circled when the schedule came out over the Summer, it’s tonight’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s going to be an electric atmosphere at the Arena for a game that Sabres fans can only see once every three years (Another reason why the NHL higher-ups are idiots).

Of course the big storyline going into the game is the homecoming of Buffalo native, Patrick Kane, and the return of former Sabre, Brian Campbell. Besides the duo returning home, the Blackhawks sport one of the best teams in the West (and even better uniforms)

Bonnies fend off Le Moyne for 76-65 win

  • Posted on December 11, 2009 at 6:58 am

Led by four players in double figures and another 50 percent night from the field, the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team defeated a feisty Le Moyne club, 76-65, on Thursday night at the Reilly Center.

The win snaps a two-game losing streak and moves the Bonnies’ record to 5-3 on the season. The loss is the second in three days for the Dolphins, a member of the Northeast-10 Conference, and drops their record to 5-4.

“It was a good win for us. It was a good bounce back from the Mississippi State game,” said head coach Mark Schmidt. “It was a tough game for us. We knew Le Moyne was good and the big kid was really good. I think we got off to a good start, especially with Chris’s threes. We made shots when we needed to but give them credit. They are feisty and they are a good team and I can see how they had success against Syracuse.”
