In a complete contradiction of recent reports, media personality Sal Capaccio of Buffalo Sports Daily and SalSports.com cites a reliable source that says free agent head coach Bill Cowher is very “impressed and interested” in the Buffalo Bills, and has in no way shut the door on potentially becoming their head coach in 2010.
Capaccio, who was broadcasting live his UStream “Buffalo Bills Now!” show Tuesday evening when an excessive amount of listeners forced the site to crash, spoke with me moments ago by telephone.
The source, which Capaccio says is not someone inside the Buffalo Bills organization but rather a source who knows Cowher, says that “I wouldn’t be surprised if they are talking today.”
He went on to mention Cowher will continue to monitor other situations, most notably Tampa Bay and Carolina, but in no way, shape or form has he written off Buffalo as a possible destination. This contradicts several reports that claim Cowher has snubbed the Bills in their efforts to pursue him.
He also went on to say Cowher wouldn’t necessarily demand a general manager role and/or complete control of the team, provided the right people were in place for him to work with.
In other Bills news, perhaps even more surprising, Capaccio said that despite the majority of fans feeling like the state of the franchise’s present and future is in flux, the organization is in fact very stable.
According to his source close to several coaches in the NFL, he told Capaccio that “The Bills ownership is one of the most stable in the National Football League.” Ralph Wilson is completely committed to bringing a winner to Buffalo.”
The source went as far to say that Wilson’s heirs are committed to Buffalo, which comes as a surprise since Wilson has no public plan for the team once he passes on.
Before you write off Capaccio as another hack trying to make a name for himself, keep in mind he was the first person in the country to break the news over the summer that Terrell Owens was in Buffalo and would be his landing spot. He was credited by most major media outlets, including NFL Sirius radio and WGR-550. He also caught wind of the Marcus Stroud trade last year before the Bills or anyone announced it.
So while you reserve the right to take this all with a grain of salt, bear in mind that “big name” or not he’s proven to be a reliable source of information.
We’ll obviously have much more on this as information becomes available.

Man I hope the Bills land Cowher. I just don’t want this to end up like the Shanahan thing did. But the good news is the Bills will still be the Buffalo Bills after Ralph is gone.

of course he isnt going to publically dismiss the bills. limiting your options is assinine, but does anyone really think cowher would come her? not to mention, the bills problems extend far beyond a coach
Cowher would be a great fit. Blue-collar type. Used to the cold. They need him, Weis as coordinator, and Bradford as QB and we could have something.

We are tend to start with looking for cheap NFL jerseys through the Internet. However, most of them are going to
be knock offs, but it is still a jersey and still has your favorite NFL team logo on it. Look for a player who is no longer on that particular NFL team? There is no
better way to purchase a cheap NFL jerseys than one of a player who has been cut or left a specific team. Yes,
that NFL player has moved on, but think about how many people are wearing jerseys of past players. Many times these jerseys will be slashed by 50 percent or more.

Very interesting article. I used to follow Sal on Billsinsider.com and always found his input accurate and often way ahead of the field on timeliness. Incidentally, what has happened to Billsinsider.com ? I keep getting a “Forbidden” message when I try to access.
