If there’s one statement I’ve made so far in 2010 that you can bank your mortgage on holding true, it’s that the Buffalo Sabres are sick and tired of the Ottawa Senators.
And for good reason, Ottawa has utterly owned the Sabres in recent years, including this current campaign.
Ottawa has faced the Sabres four times this season and beaten them all four times. Overall they’ve won eight straight. In fact since the NHL lockout ended in 2005-06 the Senators are 26-4-6 against Buffalo.
Buffalo badly wants that total to be 26-5-6 when they host their hated rival tonight at the HSBC Arena.

The Buffalo Bisons improved to 4-0 this spring with an 8-1 victory over the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday afternoon from Jupiter, FL.
The Herd will face the New Orleans Zephyrs tomorrow afternoon from Jupiter, FL.
The Bisons offense pounded out 15 hits in the victory. INF Jolbert Cabrera was 3-5 at the plate with a double and two RBI while DH Val Pascucci was 3-4 with a double, and home run and two RBI. Last season’s team MVP, OF Jesus Feliciano had a pair of hits and a runs scored.
There are just 20 days until the Bisons’ 2010 Home Opener on Wednesday, April 14 against the Pawtucket Red Sox (3:05 p.m.). Tickets are now on-sale at bisons.com or by calling THE-HERD at (843-4373).
Buffalo Jr. Sabres General Manager/Head Coach Grant Ledyard today announced the tryout schedule for the team’s 2010-11 Ontario Junior Hockey League season.
The Jr. Sabres will be holding an open tryout at Riverside Ice Rink on Sunday, April 18 beginning at 10 a.m. Each player attending the camp will be required to pay a $10 fee and sign a waiver form before they can participate. All interested players are encouraged to visit www.sabres.com/tryout to complete the registration and waiver. Once registered, players will be notified as to what team they will be playing on. The schedule for the day is as follows:

University at Buffalo Football Head Coach Jeff Quinn will be appearing for a meet and greet for a ³Friday Fish Fry with Coach Quinn at the Kenilworth Fire Hall, Friday, March 26 from 5:00pm 6:30pm. Fans can come out and
meet head coach Jeff Quinn and enter to win a UB Fan Basket. Purchasing a fish fry supports the Kenilworth Fire Hall.
The Kenilworth Fire Hall is located at 84 Hawthorne Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
Quinn recently began his first session of spring practices as head coach of the Bulls. UB will play their annual Spring Game on April 24th at 2pm. The game is open to the public.
