NFP Report: Bills looking to trade up for Tebow

Posted on April 22, 2010 by Patrick Moran

Tim TebowOne of the most respected draft analysts in the business, West Bunting of the National Football Post is reporting that the Buffalo Bills are trying to trade back into the late first round, and the target would be University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.

According to a tweet by Bunting, a Buffalo trade could happen with the New York Jets, who hold the 29th pick.

There’s been lots of talk in circles that Buddy Nix has Tebow rated higher than Jimmy Clausen on the Buffalo Bills draft board.  It’s also no longer expected that Tebow would be available to the Bills with the 41st pick overall in the second round.

Personally, I buy into what Bunting is saying.  I also think besides the Jets, San Diego at 28 or Minnesota at 30 could be targets.

For the record, Bunting now has Buffalo taking Tebow in a trade with the Jets in his final mock draft.  He has the team taking offensive tackle Anthony Davis with the ninth overall pick (and I hope he’s wrong there).

Famed draft mocker Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News has the Bills selecting defensive tackle Dan Williams.

This is shaping up to be an exciting first round of the draft, which is in prime time tonight for the first time ever.

**UPDATE** Tim Tebow’s agent says he already knows where Tebow is going.
