Three Reasons The Bills Won’t Take Tebow

Posted on April 1, 2010 by Patrick Moran

Given the fact he’s quite possibly the most talked about college prospect in the history of the NFL draft, I won’t bore you to tears with how I feel about Tim Tebow.  I’m not going to get into his leadership, pedigree or throwing mechanics… or lack thereof at this present time.

Even though anything with an opinion about Tebow is a lock to get site hits and a slew of comments, I’m refraining from offering any further perspective and since I won’t weigh the merits of selecting him, I’ll leave all the probing and scrutinizing to you.

Instead, I’ll keep it short and sweet.

The Buffalo Bills are not going to draft Tebow—and here are the three reasons why.

1.  They’re not going to draft him as high as the ninth pick overall.

2.  I don’t think he’ll be on the board when he Bills are on the clock with the 41st pick.

3.  I don’t think the Bills will trade up  to take Tebow.  Chan Gailey knows that Tebow at best is a project and I’m confident enough in Buddy Nix to assume he knows the team needs to hit home runs on their first two picks.  Buffalo lacks talent and their first two picks need to be able to start from day one.

Who will they draft? I don’t know.  Who should they take? Frankly, I don’t know that answer either. It’s a topic I’m sure will be debated up until and long after the selections are made.

But I’m confident neither of those picks will be Tebow.

That is all.
