It’s only on paper and certainly not official, but if you’re a Buffalo Bills fan hoping rookie C.J. Spiller will see plenty of action in his first regular season NFL game, it looks promising.
Bills.com has listed the “unofficial” team depth chart. Sitting first on the list of running backs is Spiller. Both Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch are listed as second teamers.
The team’s website also lists Spiller as the first kick returner and backup punt returner to Roscoe Parrish.
At the end of the day, especially just a Monday, the listed depth chart doesn’t mean a lot. Having versatile veterans like Lynch and assuming his hand is good enough to go, Jackson waiting on the sideline may shorten Spiller’s leash some. But we all knew coming into this season that Buddy Nix didn’t use the ninth overall pick of the draft on Spiller to be a gadget type of player.

I spoke to recently released Buffalo Bills running back Andre Anderson Sunday night, and he told me that he is going to join the Cleveland Browns practice squad.
“It’s a good opportunity for me to learn and grow and at this point that’s all you can ask for—is an opportunity.” Anderson said.
Anderson, 22, was signed by the Bills last month after being an undrafted free agent out of Tulane. As a senior last year Anderson ran for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. He also excelled off the field; being named an Academic All-American.

After initially being taken back by the move it appeared a certainty he’d spend a season on the team’s practice squad, assuming he wasn’t claimed by another team.
Well, some 24 hours Brown wasn’t picked up by another team. In what many will consider a shocking development, it doesn’t appear he’ll be back in Buffalo anytime soon unless it’s for a visit.
Brown tweeted Sunday night that he will not be joining the Bills practice squad. Not only does he appear surprised; he’s also angry.

A wrap up for this past weekend’s high school football openers:
Upset Of The Year (Already): North Tonawanda went undefeated and won their first-ever NYS championship last year in Class-AA. The road to a repeat, at least another undefeated one, has been put to rest on the opening night of the season. Kenmore West traveled into Lumberjacks Stadium and dealt N.T. a shocking 30-22 defeat on the hands of three huge plays by running back Martin Bailey. He scored on runs of 46 and 53 yards and also caught a 53-yard touchdown pass.
