Most days may not feel like it, but sooner or later the NFLPA and the owners will hammer out a new collective bargaining agreement. Indications are it could come soon and according to a report by the Washington Post on Tuesday, the stalemate could be over as soon as Sunday. That’s good news for football fans around the league as even the most ardent supporters have grown drained of headlines dominated by DeMaurice Smith, Roger Goodell, courts, judges and a slew public relations statements.
Like 31 other front offices in the league, Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix will have plenty to get done with little time to do it. In a matter of a few weeks at best, Nix will have to figure out what free agents of his own he wants back and identify players from other teams that can help the Bills improve on their measly four win total of a year ago.
