Congratulations to Chris Holland of International Prep at Grover Cleveland, who was named the New York State Class-C high school boy’s basketball Player of the Year.
Holland averaged 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game for Grover as they spent the entire season ranked at the top of the Buffalo News small school rankings. A first-team, All-BSD selection as well, Holland is also one of the best football players in Western New York.
Plenty of the area’s best talent was represented well on the All-State teams. Jamestown’s Jaysean Paige, BSD’s Player of the Year, was a third-team Class-AA selection. Tremmell Fisher (East) was a second-team Class-A pick while Aaron Nevins (Canisius) made the third team. Davon Alexander (OTC Middle) made the second team for Class-C and Dazmon Knight (Tapestry) was on the third team.
