After four successful years in St. Bonaventure’s bullpen, Cory Sudbrook enters his first year as an assistant coach as a part of the Bonnies’ staff.

In addition to administrative responsibilities, Sudbrook will assist with infield and outfield defense and assume first base coaching duties. He will also work with the Bonnies’ pitchers on their defensive responsibilities.

During his playing career, Sudbrook was a workhorse for the Brown and White, as he tallied at least 19 appearances in each of his four years out of the bullpen. He owns the University’s all-time appearances record (84) and has been deeply involved with Bonnies baseball for a number of years, as his father has just completed his 25^th season as head coach.

“I’m excited for this new opportunity to join the coaching staff,” said Sudbrook on his addition to the staff. “I spent 18 years standing on the St. Bonaventure hill watching my father coach the Bonnies.  Then, I stepped onto the diamond myself for four years as a player. Now I am looking forward to working with my father and the future of St. Bonaventure baseball.”

The Bradford, Pa. native capped his career with 25 appearances, 15 strikeouts, two saves, and only one home run allowed in 19.1 innings of work.

Sudbrook graduated in May 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in History, and will complete a master’s degree in Secondary Education in the fall of 2010.
