Incoming St. Bonaventure softball player Jennifer Sansano was named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) High School East Region first team for her senior season performance in the circle.

Sansano comes to St. Bonaventure after posting a 21-3 record at Clarence High School while tossing 14 shutouts and ending the season with a miniscule 0.20 ERA.  Her team was the Erie County Interscholastic Conference (ECIC) Division I Champions and the Section VI AA Champions.  She was named to the New York State (AA) first team and led the Devils to a Far West Regional championship and the New York State finals.  The Amherst, N.Y., product was named the ECIC I and All-WNY Pitcher of the Year, an All-ECIC I and an All-ECIC I-II first team selection as well as earning her Team MVP.

The pitcher broke every previous school pitching records including most career strikeouts (890), career shutouts (40) and wins (67).  She also set single-season records with 310 strikeouts, a 0.20 ERA, 14 shutouts and 174 innings pitched.

“Jen had an outstanding high school career and we are confident that once Jen gets to St. Bonaventure she will do everything she can not only to continue her pitching dominance, but to get even better at it,” said head coach Mike Threehouse.

Sansano joins is one of six incoming freshmen who will add to a team of 18 returning players including nine starters.
