After a standout performance against the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, that put him in the national spotlight, senior linebacker Khalil Mack was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Mack was making plays all over the field on Saturday in UB’s season opener. He finished with a game-high nine tackles, tied a career high with 2.5 sacks and added an interception that he returned 45 yards for a touchdown.
He increased his career tackles for loss total to 58.5 – moving him into 12th place in NCAA history. Mack is now 16.5 shy of the all-time record of 75 held by Jason Babin.
