As the NFL Draft draws closer, many so-called experts and even a host of former players will offer their opinion as to who Buddy Nix should select for the Buffalo Bills. Count Bills’ all-time great wide receiver Andre Reed among those.
Not surprisingly given the position he once dominated, Reed thinks the Bills should select Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd should he available with the 10th overall pick.
“If Michael Floyd slips in the draft, the Bills should take him…..good addition to learn under Stevie Johnson.” Reed tweeted Friday.
I tend to agree with him—or at the very least share his logic. Floyd could be an instant upgrade over Donald Jones, Marcus Easley, Derek Hagan or anyone else the team may currently have penciled in as their No. 2 receiver.
Ultimately the Bills pick will come down to offensive tackle or receiver, in my opinion. If Riley Reiff is on the board he may be too hard to pass up, and do not discount offensive linemen Cordy Glenn as a surprise pick either. But Floyd more and more is looking like a sensible option.
Beginning Monday we’re going full speed into draft coverage and we’ll also have our first mock draft. If nothing else, keep in mind I’ve hit on the Bills third-round selection the past two years, so we got that going for us.

This seems obvious to me. The defense is immediately upgraded by Williams and Anderson, now they should address offense. Chan Gailey’s offense does not need a top LT. Look at the Packers Steelers and Saints. None of them have premier LT’s but the QB makes their LT good by making quick reads and getting rid of the ball.
Floyd eliminates the press and blitz defense that the Jets exploited the Bills with. A big physical receiver that can get off the line of scrimmage will immediately upgrade this offense. LT has not made the Dolphins or Browns any better? But clearly WR does.
