University at Buffalo forward Will Regan was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 18 points and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of wins last week.
Regan shot 12-of-18 from the field (67 percent), including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc for the week. He was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw on the week.
At Milwaukee, the sophomore forward had 10 points, seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block to help the Bulls earn the 72-52 road win.
He followed that up with the best game of his young UB career as he had 26 points and eight rebounds – both career highs. He shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-4 from long distance. He scored seven of his points in the final 3:20, including a pivotal three-pointer that extended the UB lead from five to eight points, to help the Bulls hold off Niagara.
After averaging just 4.3 points over the first three games, Regan is averaging 13.2 points over the last eight games.
Buffalo will next face Washington State in Seattle on Dec. 21.
