The Buffalo Bills, like every other team have been meeting with all the draft’s top prospects and particularly at quarterback. According to a report from Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, you can add USC quarterback Matt Barkley to the list.
King says that Barkley met formally with the Bills since the Combine started as well as eight other teams, including the Cardinals, Eagles, Jets, Raiders, Chiefs, Cardinals and Bucs.
Barkley has been at the Combine but didn’t work out as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. He will participate fully in pro day at USC on March 27, and the day figures to be watched heavily by NFL general managers, including Buddy Nix.
Most analysts think Barkley isn’t a good fit in Buffalo, mainly because of a perceived lack of arm strength. However, it’s worth (big-time) noting that new Bills head coach Doug Marrone faced Barkley twice while coaching at Syracuse and spoke extremely highly of Barkley, even suggesting last year he would’ve went ahead of Robert Griffin III had he entered last April’s draft.
