Things appeared promising last week in the ongoing saga of the NHL lockout but it’s quite clear things once again took a turn for the worse, and now according to an AP source the league has cancelled all games dating through December 30.
With the cuts the total amount of games lost to the lockout will rise to 526, not including the already cancelled NHL All-Star game.
The best remaining hope is that by only canceling an additional two weeks there still may be a season that could start in early January. That is of course, assuming the two sides are able to reach some kind of a deal.
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told reporters on Sunday the league is trying to restart negotiations this week.
