St. Joe’s high school quarterback Chad Kelly is in Alabama on Monday, visiting the school and its famous head football coach, Nick Saban. The highly recruited nephew of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, Chad will also visit Clemson this week and hopes to make a college decision within the next month.
According to a source, the two schools are the clear frontrunners to land Kelly’s services, with Purdue also in the race as a dark horse.
Chad’s uncle has accompanied him on the trip to Alabama.
Kelly has received scholarship offers from at least a dozen schools; a list that includes Alabama, University at Buffalo, Cincinnati, Clemson, Connecticut, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan.

The Erie Community College football team played their stingiest defensive game of the season Saturday afternoon defeating Milford Academy 18-0.
Wet weather and wind gusts in excess of 40 miles-per-hour helped ground both offensive attacks, but big plays on defense and special teams catapulted William Paterson (4-4/3-4) to a 33-7 win over host Buffalo State (1-7/1-6) in an NJAC contest Saturday at Coyer Field.
Rowan (6-1/5-1) scored on the second play from scrimmage and limited Buffalo State (1-6/1-5) to just 44 yards of total offense, cruising to a 57-7 victory over visiting in an NJAC contest today at John Page Field.
