Flynn contributes to a much needed Timberwolves Win

  • Posted on October 23, 2009 at 1:07 pm

Niagara Falls high school alum Jonny Flynn and the  Minnesota Timberwolves gave pro-basketball fans in Minnesota something to be excited about last night.  Flynn and his teammates traveled to Detroit to take on the Pistons in The Palace of Auburn Hills and walked away victorious, 122-114.

Flynn played one of the best games he has had since joining the Timberwolves roster earlier this summer. Although the Timberwolves were down three at the half and quickly allowed the spread to grow in the third quarter, Flynn and the rookie roster (both Kevin Love and Al Jefferson sat the game out) regrouped and came out swinging. Analysts have commented that despite Flynn’s talent, the young star needs the leadership of older, experienced players like Love or Jefferson… last night quieted those voices.

Jonny Flynn proves early he belongs in NBA

  • Posted on October 13, 2009 at 2:35 pm

Niagara Falls high school alum Jonny Flynn joined the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer and has immediately stepped up to prove that despite being a lottery pick on the team, he came to the Land of 10,000 Lakes to work and won’t stop until he proves he deserves the starting spot that he has been given.

In the first preseason game for the Timberwolves on Sunday October 4th against the Milwaukee Bucks, Flynn not only was a part of the starting line-up, he also posted 14 points to the final score. When asked about his nerves stepping onto a NBA court for the first time, Flynn told a reporter, “You are just so anxious you want to go out there and make something happen right away but you have to be patient.”
