For Buffalo Bills fans too young to remember, there once was a time when Buffalo vs. Miami week was the only that mattered to people in Western New York. Obviously, that’s pretty much gone now, especially this year with the Bills officially out of the AFC playoff race and Miami out even longer, which makes this week’s game in Orchard Park have a lethargic feeling.
However, there was one intriguing storyline that got the fans’ juices flowing over the past few days— the thought that Matt Moore’s injury would equate to former Bills quarterback J.P. Losman under center for Miami against his old team.
Reportedly, that’s now gone too.
Report: Moore, Not Losman Expected To Start vs Bills – continue reading…
In a move that probably has Buffalo Bills fans thinking the Miami Dolphins are looking for some Andrew Luck sweepstakes should starting quarterback Matt Moore go down to injury, the winless and hapless Dolphins have signed former Buffalo signal caller J.P. Losman to replace Sage , who was placed on Injured Reserve.
Losman has thrown just one pass in the NFL since he lost his starting job to Trent Edwards with the Bills in 2008. Since that time he’s temporarily bounced around with Seattle and Oakland as well as spending time in the UFL and has been out of the league since the start of the 2011 season. As a starter in Buffalo, Losman compiled an unimpressive 10-23 record.
This means when the Bills face Miami upcoming on the schedule (twice), they could be just one hard hit of Moore away from seeing Losman line up against them. Something tells me Bills fans would enjoy seeing that.
As first reported by FoxSports.com, former Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman has signed a one-year contract worth $630,000 to join the Seattle Seahawks.
The road for Losman to get playing time figures to be long. The Seahawks still have incumbent starter Matt Hasselbeck on the roster, and traded with San Diego during the offseason to acquire Charlie Whitehurst, who will challenge Hasselbeck for the starting job.
Losman spent five years with the Bills, including his best year in 2006 when he threw for 19 touchdowns against 4 interceptions. He eventually lost his starting job once Trent Edwards came into the mix, and he was not resigned when he became a free agent following the 2008 season.
He spent last season with Las Vegas of the UFL before having a cup of coffee back in the NFL with Oakland. Losman threw one pass for the Raiders last season.
We posted a poll a couple of days ago asking readers who is the most hated Buffalo Bills player over the past decade and listed five candidates to choose from. Jason Peters, Marshawn Lynch, J.P. Losman and Trent Edwards were four of them.
Combine them all and they still don’t measure up to Willis McGahee.
Fans have spoken and your loathe for McGahee is as strong as ever. With over 1,900 total votes casted, McGahee pulled a remarkable 55% majority of the vote. Losman was a distant second at 19% while Peters garnered 16% of your vote.
Lynch, who I suspect would receive a much higher voting total if this poll is revisited in a couple of years, pulled eight percent of the vote while only two percent of you despise Edwards the most.

Last week Buffalo Sports Daily was graced by the Buffalo Bills’ All-Decade Team.
But it’s been such a decade of shame that their story may be better told by their screw-ups. So to follow up the All-Decade Team, here is the Bills’ All-Decay Team.
Every franchise has its busts, but few can put together a complete lineup of failures who came with so much promise. These aren’t just any scrubs; they’re guys who, based on what was invested in them, were counted on to make the team respectable at least. The All-Decay Team includes five first-round draft picks, four second-rounders and four third-rounders — not including picks used to trade up for a couple of them. Add in the free agents, and there’s enough money down the drain to feed some countries for a year.
You’ve seen the good, but there’s much more bad and ugly:

The fairy tale start to J.P. Losman’s UFL season took a turn last night, one that Buffalo Bills fans are all too familiar with.
Losman led his 1-0 Las Vegas Locos into a showdown with the 1-0 Florida Tuskers. Since the UFL consists of only four teams (New York and California also have a franchise) this was already the lone battle of the unbeaten.
Brooks Bollinger is the former Jets, Minnesota, Dallas castoff quarterback of Florida. On Wednesday night he clearly outperformed the 2004 former Bills first round draft pick as Florida romped Vegas, 29-15.

Buckle up those seatbelts and brace yourself, Buffalo sports fan. The J.P. Losman story reaches chapter two tonight, and all eyes– or a few anyway, will be on the former Buffalo Bills first round bust gunslinger.
Losman is set to make his United Football League (UFL) debut tonight at 9pm as the Las Vegas Locomotives play host to the California Redwoods.
Losman, who spent the past five seasons chucking balls to Asante Samuel, Darrelle Revis and Rodney Harrison–while consistently handing off to Jason Taylor, Shaun Ellis and Richard Seymour, will have a new set of weapons at his disposal.
