The Hockey News came out with a list of the 10 most hated players in the NHL and right near the top is Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta.
The list, put together by THN writer Adam Proteau, has Kaleta second only to Pittsburgh cheap shot artist Matt Cooke, who’s currently serving a 10-game suspension (plus the first round of the playoffs) for his vicious elbow last week that had his own general manager praising the NHL’s harsh punishment.
Proteau writes on Kaleta— “Say Kaleta’s name to a player from any NHL team outside of Buffalo and you’re sure to hear words we can’t use in a family publication. If Kaleta found himself on fire, the only way most fans and players would try to “help” would be to pour gasoline and fireworks on it.”
Kaleta is ahead of a couple of players Sabres fans have truly come to hate, including Sean Avery and Chris Neil.
