(Editors Note: Hats off to blogger Tim Riordan, who’s been on top of everything UB football the past several weeks)
When I discussed Greg Forest yesterday I had expressed that my only concern was his lack of experience coaching an offensive line (and it was a slight concern at that). Today FootBallScoop is reporting that Quinn has selected his Offensive Line coach in the person of Adam Shorter.
Shorter was a four-year letterman and starting center for the Cincinnati Bearcats. the the John Pease Award recipient appeared in three of Cincinnati’s four bowl appearances during his tenure.
Shorter began coaching at his Alma matter as graduate assistant from 2005-2007. There he had an influential hand in the scouting and recruiting process. While still a graduate assistant he was promoted to the role of interim offensive line coach. That year the 8-5 Bearcats recorded 1,737 yards on the ground and 11 rushing touchdowns and won the inaugural International Bowl.
After graduating he was took over the offensive line and tight ends for Alcorn State where helped develop 2008 All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) offensive lineman Bronson Carvalho.
Most recently he was the offensive line coach for Delaware State.
